Ring in the Christmas season with the City of Oxford Choir and O be joyful! A Christmas carol celebration — a festive evening of choral music in the beautiful setting of the University Church of St Mary the Virgin. We’ll share with you pieces that evoke the boisterous merriment of the feast, the quieter joys of a great book by a cosy fire, and the deep contentment of faithful reflection. Popular carols will be performed and audience participation encouraged.
Join us for this rich and varied programme to welcome the Christmas season in warmth and wonder.
This year we will offer two performances of O be joyful! on Saturday, 6 December 2025:
A shorter, relaxed performance at 5:00pm, ideal for families and those who prefer a more informal concert setting.
